Connect Zoom

Pull meeting & webinar attendance into your funnels — no app review, no OAuth login flow.

A paid Zoom plan is required

Zoom only exposes attendance analytics through its Report APIs on paid plans:

  • Meetings — Zoom Pro or higher.
  • Webinars — Zoom Business/Enterprise with a Webinar license add-on.

On a free (Basic) plan the connection may succeed but attendance figures will come back empty.

Zoom retired the old "API Key & Secret" (JWT) apps in 2023. The simplest supported replacement is a Server-to-Server OAuth app. Despite the name, there's no login redirect, no consent screen, and no Marketplace review — you create a small internal app once and copy three values. It takes about two minutes.

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Open the Zoom App Marketplace

Go to marketplace.zoom.us and sign in with your admin account. Click Develop › Build App.

  2. 2

    Choose "Server-to-Server OAuth"

Pick the Server-to-Server OAuth app type and give it any name (e.g. "Nova Pixel Analytics"). This app stays private to your account — you never publish or submit it for review.

  3. 3

    Copy your three credentials

On the App Credentials tab you'll find the three values Nova Pixel needs:

    • Account ID
    • Client ID
    • Client Secret
  4. 4

    Add the required scopes

On the Scopes tab, add these granular scopes:

    • user:read:user:admin — verify the connection
    • report:read:user:admin — list your past meetings
    • report:read:list_meeting_participants:admin — meeting attendees
    • report:read:list_webinar_participants:admin — webinar attendees
    • webinar:read:list_webinars:admin — list your webinars
    • webinar:read:list_registrants:admin — webinar registrants (optional)

Older Zoom apps may show classic scopes instead (report:read:admin, webinar:read:admin) — those work too.

  5. 5

    Activate the app

On the Activation tab, click Activate your app. That's it on the Zoom side.

  6. 6

    Paste them into Nova Pixel

In Nova Pixel, open Settings › Property Integrations, click Connect on the Zoom card, and paste the Account ID, Client ID and Client Secret. We'll test them instantly and confirm the connection.

Using Zoom data in a funnel

Once connected, open any funnel in the Funnel Builder and, on a step, set the Integration Trigger to Zoom (Webinar/Meeting Attendees).

Search for and select the webinars or meetings you want to track. That step's count then reflects the number of unique attendees across the selected events, and appears in your funnel report on the dashboard.

Note: attendance is a fixed property of each event, so these figures are not narrowed by the report's date range.

Troubleshooting

"Could not authenticate with Zoom"

Re-check that you copied the Account ID, Client ID and Client Secret from a Server-to-Server OAuth app (not an OAuth or SDK app), and that the app is activated.

"The app is missing the required scopes"

Add the scopes listed in Step 4 on the app's Scopes tab, then re-activate the app and reconnect.

Attendance numbers are empty or zero

This almost always means the account is on a free plan, or the specific webinar/meeting hasn't happened yet. Zoom reports attendance only for past events on paid plans.
